"OneCause"

Kinderhaven is in need of funds in order to sustain the critical services we provide the children.  If you shop on-line you can support Kinderhaven as well.  All you have to do is sign up at www.onecause.com.  Kinderhaven has joined OneCause to help you turn your everyday purchases into much-needed contributions for us.  When you shop through OneCause you can earn up to 20% contribution for us on every eligible purchase made at hundreds of well-known merchants such as Target, Land’s End, Macy’s, and Amazon.

It’s easy to sign up!

2.      Fill in your profile information and select Kinderhaven to support

3.      Be sure to install their "OneCause" web browser, so every time you order something from one of the many merchants that are a part of OneCause, a percentage of your sale will go to Kinderhaven!

Kinderhaven is a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation.
Donations to Kinderhaven have a special status in that Idaho residents can deduct itemized charitable gifts in the same manner as with the IRS.  There is also a small credit against income that can be applied.  (Idaho Code Ann. Section 63-3011A and Section 63-3029C.)  Kinderhaven is specifically listed as one of the charitable organizations to which this special status applies!
 
A donation to Kinderhaven is eligible for both a state tax credit and itemized charitable gift deductions for federal and state taxes.  The Idaho tax credit is limited to the smallest of:
-- 50% of the amount donated; or
-- 20% of the tax on line 23; or
-- $100 ($200 of joint returns); or
-- tax on line 23 less the amounts of lines 24 or 25
 
Example:
"A married couple filing in the 28% federal tax bracket (7.8% state) makes a $400 donation to Kinderhaven in 2009.
 
The tax savings can be;
Federal savings (28% of $400)    $112
 
State savings (7.8% of $400)       $31
 
$200 IDAHO TAX CREDIT for joint filers 
 
                            $343 TOTAL SAVINGS!
 
A $400 contribution to the local children's shelter may cost you as little as $57 out-of-pocket and keeps your tax dollars here in Sandpoint. Consult your tax advisor for your exact tax benefit."
